I think that over time I, like many others, have been ‘drip fed’ with sugar and processed carbohydrates in everyday food purchases. We have all been victims of ignorance where by the advice given has led us to believe that processed foods are ok and all fat is bad. I was likely able to reduce the damage that this caused by trying to eat healthily but in the long term, it caught up with me.
However those today who may be in the trap of eating more processed food than ever before, due to the rising cost of living and the increased amount of processed foods available at lower prices will be at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes at an earlier age.
