The inevitable conclusion of type 2 diabetes on our health is not good. Early onset symptoms are of energy loss, lethargy, tiredness and feeling run down. You dont want to do the things you used to find easy some things you dont want to do at all for lack of any kind of get up and go.
Today I scraped the wallpaper off of a chimney breast in the living room. Two years ago I would not have stood for 2 hours let alone stripped wallpaper without having to take a lie down every 10 minutes.
I’m not exactly a human dynamo but today was a landmark. I have jobs to do round the place I’d thought I’d never be able to do but now there is hope that I will. A year ago I was just managing to get up from lying on the sofa whenever I had down time. Coupled with lack of energy, I had general pain in muscles, joints and it even felt like my bones hurt. Again, I’m not exactly recovered to be an athlete but I am part way to being physically active again. Its a bit of a way off of how I was when we renovated the 100 year old house we lived in just over 10 years ago but its a start.
This is down to being in remission from type 2 diabetes achieved by losing weight, living a keto diet, intermittent fasting, cutting out sugar, carbohydrates and eating good fat.
